STORIES

We have always lived amidst stories whether they are told to us, we read them or we watch a performance of them.We have our own stories and we are intricately connected and part of other people's stories.
In the workshops we use stories as a starting point, something to respond to on a personal and poetic level. We are not trying to illustrate them or even retell them (though this might happen as a bonus) but more trying to get inside the story. We will use all sorts of types of stories from Ovid's Metamorphoses, Greek plays, fairy tales, myths, and more contemporary and perhaps even true stories.
In my own work I have made art using 'Who Killed Cock Robin?', 'Baba Yaga' and 'Little Red Riding Hood'.
